well, try and locate the heater hoses going into the car from the engine. they will go into the fire wall. With the engine warm , turn the heat on . See if either of the hoses get hot . If they dont you have a problem on the engine side. Probably a air bubble that nees to be bled from the cooling system. If the hoses are hot , and no hot air coming out , you may have a heater core issue ... Check your floorboards foor moisture , the smell of anitfreeze etc....good luck, hope its an air pocket !

Yes. That reservoir is not meant to be topped off all the way - there needs to be space for expansion, and the heated fluid will expand.

What is convecntion?

Convection is when heat causes a fluid to circulate around in a container.i.e. the fluid is heated at the bottom > the hot fluid rises to the surface and cools > the cool fluid then sinks again > the fluid is heated... etc.

Why breather is not used in fluid coupling?

Breather is provided where the oil tends to give out fumes after getting heated. in a fluid coupling the fluid is not heated upto that temperature hence not required

How is heat transferred into a fluid?

When a fluid (liquid or gas) is heated, it expands. The heated fluid is therefore less dense than the fluid around it, so it rises.Colder fluid then sinks down to replace it and this sets up a movement of fluid called a CONVECTION CURRENT.
