Very well could be the ignition module but before replacing it check to see if you are getting spark to your plugs if so then that is not the problem . please include year make and model and motor to help answer these type of questions
I'm not sure what is going on with my car. I'm on the freeway, my RPM's shoot higher than normal, but not in the red, and then my check engine light comes on. By the time I made it to an exit the other two warning lights come and my engine sounds strange. I've heard a few strange things before and this didn't sound like any of them. The noise diminished and went away when I let off the gas. Before I made it to the street light at the end of the exit my engine died out and my Power Steering was gone. It took a lot of strength just to pull the wheel a little. When I was able to find a good place to pull over I noticed a burning smell but no smoke. No fluid appeared to be leaking from underneath the car. Everything looked fine so I figured I try starting it again. It didn't work and sounded different from any other time I've had a car not start. I figured on not damaging the engine with repeated attempts to start it, but by now it probably won't matter. The only other thing I noticed was that my orange, plastic dipstick had been melted. There was oil well past the full mark and it broke in half after removing it. I doubt having the other half left inside would have made a difference, because I'm betting that the engine will need replacing anyway. Anyone have some suggestions?
You ran out of fuel
There could be many reasons as to why it will crank and not start. The car may have a failing starter, a leaky gas pump may cause the car to cut off while driving.
A faulty alternator will cause those symptoms. You might want to get t checked out.
Check timing belt
The reason your 2001 Hyundai Sonata lost all power while you were driving and stalled and won't start again is either the battery or the alternator. If you have no power you most likely have an alternator problem.
sounds to me like a fuel pump if the engine continued to run but accelerator did not work then check for broken or disconnected accelerator cable both at the pedal and the throttle plate
Bc is not enough air in the intake....
Is there gas in the vehicle ?
It could be your remote that is faulty and while in motion it can activate. I had that problem. If not, you have a short somewhere in the wiring.
Check the cars ignition coil and crank sensor. Either of these could be overheating and causing the car to not start until it sits for a while.
I had a camoro that did the same thing, after awhile it did not start at all, would turn over great but not start. it turned out to be the ignition module.
Your car lost power while you were driving and it will not start now because the battery is depleted.
Replace your coils, akillera3 my car was same problem and turned out to be a cam sensor
A person's eyes can start watering while driving because the driver hasn't blinked enough to keep the eye moist.
If you lost power while driving and it did not start again, it could be an alternator issue. Double check the battery just to make certain it isn't an issue with the cable connectors too.
check your battery connections
my car has no power when driving. plus its hard to start. after i ran it low on fuel
I believe that vehicle has a timing belt, it may have let go.
