Saldaña is a municipality in the Tolima department of Colombia. Saldaña is where nearly 30% of Colombian coffee is grown, and nearly the entire population of Saldaña has the last name Saldaña, and most of them work in the coffee business. The population of the municipality was 14,273 as of the 1993 census.
The Saldaña family is currently working with the FARC to start a banana plantation with hopes that people will eat bananas to counter the laxative effects of real Colombian coffee.
