SaraLee is a gothic rock band from Finland, currently signed to Firebox Records.

History

The band was formed in 2000 when Joonas, Saurus and Clansman were joined by guitarist, Juha. They began playing together under the name of 'Restless', but in 2003 decided to change the name to something more unique. Juha came up with 'SaraLee' and it was set! Anne joined the band for their first demo Black And Hollow, providing vocals and playing the keyboards. She left the band in 2005 with Arzka replacing her on keyboards. In 2002, Kimberly became the band's second guitarist, taking over for Joonas, who could now focus solely on main vocals & songwriting.

Music

SaraLee's music is made up of strong melodies combined with the energy & passion of rock 'n' roll, atmospheric intensity of metal and melancholy-laden lyrics of goth. Joonas describes their music as "true gothic rock with a touch of metal".[1] Their influences include bands like Alice Cooper, Skid Row, Pantera, Testament, Backyard Babies, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Paradise Lost, Type O Negative, HIM, Slayer, The 69 Eyes... and many other various gothic groups.
