South Jersey Industries (SJI) is Atlantic City's answer to cold casino nights. Its main subsidiary, South Jersey Gas, provides natural gas to more than 349,000 customers in southern New Jersey, including Atlantic City. The utility has more than 6,000 miles of transmission and distribution mains; it also sells and transports wholesale gas. SJI's deregulated retail supplier, South Jersey Energy, provides retail gas, electricity, and energy management services. Its South Jersey Resources unit is a wholesale gas marketer and services provider in the eastern and southern US. Subsidiary Marina Energy develops and operates on-site energy projects, such as heating and cooling systems.
