Talisman Energy hopes its efforts to develop hydrocarbon projects worldwide will work like a charm. Canada's largest independent oil and gas exploration and production company, Talisman is active in North and South America, Southeast Asia, and the North Sea. The company is looking ramp up its drilling activities in the Pennsylvania Marcellus and Montney shale plays, which it has made a strategic priority. In the North Sea Talisman operates in a number of oilfields and has a large exploration holding in offshore Norway. It also has a vast acreage of natural gas reserves in Southeast Asia. In 2010 Talisman reported net proved reserves of 447.6 million barrels of oil and 4.2 trillion cu. ft. of natural gas.
