UCSI University is a university located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was previously known as University College Sedaya International. On 6 October 2008, University College Sedaya International was being conferred university status by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and officially registered as UCSI University.
UCSI is an acronym stands for Unwavering Commitment to Serve Intentionally which is a self-explanatory statement of UCSI University's mission to serve its community of students and scholars with unreserved commitment and with the express intention of providing best-quality education.
Established since 1986, UCSI University is amongst the few Malaysian private universities to offer a wide spectrum of academic studies ranging from Engineering to Information Technology and Business, Applied Sciences to Pharmacy and Medicine, Social Science to Music.
UCSI University offers its own university honours degrees in the above disciplines, and upon completion of these degrees students may transfer to a internationally recognised university for postgraduate studies. UCSI University degrees can also allow student transfers to other foreign universities for completion of the undergraduate degree.
UCSI University main campus is strategically located in Taman Connaught, Cheras, some 10 km South of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Thus, students have convenient access to banks, financial institutions, eateries, transportation services, entertainment, and accommodation.
Also renowned for its cosmopolitan and unique international culture, UCSI University comprises both local and international students from China, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Pakistan,Sri Lanka, Bangaladesh, Kenya, Congo, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Mauritius and Uzbekistan. With this setting, a student can expect to not only gain academic knowledge, but also be exposed to cross-cultural communication skills to enhance their future career pathways locally or internationally.

Faculties
UCSI University is divided into five faculties: The Faculty of Medical Sciences; the Faculty of Applied Sciences; the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Built Environment; the Faculty of Management and Information Technology; and the Faculty of Music, Social Sciences and Design. UCSI University offers Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
History
On 13 September 2003, Sedaya International College was awarded university college status by the Ministry of Education and became known as University College Sedaya International (UCSI).On the 23 October 2008, it was proclaimed as a full university and is known as UCSI University by the Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin. This is indeed a landmark achievement for an institution of higher learning that made its mark as a provider of higher education in Malaysia.
UCSI University began as the Canadian Institute of Computer Studies, a computer-based training centre located in SS2, Petaling Jaya, after which it became known as Sedaya College, when it was accorded the College status in 1990. In 2002, it evolved into Sedaya International College, reflecting its increasing international focus. When it was accorded university college status in 2003, it was known as University College Sedaya International (UCSI). After the full university conferment, it is now known as UCSI University. UCSI University's campus in Cheras, which cost RM80 million, was completed in May 2004. In addition to academic buildings, the campus also provides various facilities for student recreation and relaxation.
In Kuala Lumpur, UCSI University has two campuses, known as the South Wing Campus and the North Wing Campus, which are collectively known as UCSI University Kuala Lumpur Campus.There is also a medical campus in Kuala Terengganu which is known as UCSI University Terengganu Campus and another campus in Sarawak known as UCSI University Sarawak Campus.
