WZWZ is an FM radio station owned by Hoosier AM/FM LLC in Kokomo, Indiana. The station operates on the FM radio frequency of 92.5 mHz. The station is located at the "Radio Ranch" on State Road 26 in Kokomo.
For many years, WZWZ (Z-93) was assigned to 93.5 megacycles as a class A FM station. To make room for a new FM license in east-central Indiana, several central Indiana class A FM's shifted dial position in 1985. Z-93 moved to 92.7 as part of the shift. Several years later it would be granted a move to 92.5 with a power increase. During the early 80's, Z-93 used the slogan "Indiana's Hit Music FM" and played a mainstream Top 40 music mix with a slight bent for harder edge hits, especially at night. With a new Program Director came the moniker "93-WZ" during the summer of 1985, with a somewhat more adult hit music mix and presentation. The change was not well received and when the PD left after a few months, the Z-93 of old was back again. Some of the jocks of this dominant era included Dr. Dave Gross, Bob Richards, Tammy Lively, Tom Wilhoite, Karen Joplyn, Glenn Thomas, Diane Costello, Lee McKay, Brandon Scott, and John McGue. Several moved on to larger markets.
