Yadkin Valley Financial Corporation was formed in 2006 to be the holding company for Yadkin Valley Bank and Trust. The bank and its Piedmont Bank, High Country Bank, and Cardinal State Bank divisions operate about 30 branches in central and western portions of North Carolina. They primarily originate real estate mortgages, which account for more than 60% of the company's loan portfolio. Yadkin Valley Financial subsidiary Main Street Investment Services provides mutual funds, annuities, and other investment products through an agreement with Securities America.
