10 Things to Know About Kevin Durant
Durant loves kids and wants to do more work with kids both now and after he retires from the NBA. Right now, he has his dad give out his NBA trading cards at work to the kids who stop by the Library of Congress. Durant's dad works at the Library of Congress as a U.S. Capitol police officer.
Durant has wanted to play in the NBA since he was just eight years old. At this age, he sat his mom down and told her of his goal to be an NBA star. As a kid, he cheered on the Toronto Raptors and the reason he started liking this team is all because he loved what their uniforms looked like.
Before the NBA, he was friends with NBA players throughout his childhood. Michael Beasley of the Phoenix Suns and Durant have been friends since childhood and remain close to this day. During his high school years, Durant played with Greivis Vasquez, a current point guard for the Hornets.
Durant loves tattoos and has a lot of them, but he had them strategically places so that none are visible when he is wearing his NBA uniform. His tattoos vary in size, but he has a rather large one that goes across his back that reads, "Maryland" a state near and dear to his heart because he was born there.

During his freshman year of college at the University of Texas, he had an impressive 3.0 GPA. He left the school after that year and declared for the NBA draft. During his summers off from the NBA, he spends time taking classes so that he can eventually get his college degree.

Durant has a $60 million endorsement contract with Nike. He turned down a $70 million offer from Adidas in 2007, saying that he's never worn Adidas and has been wearing Nike since he was in eighth grade.
Durant loves to dance and he starts dancing any time that music is playing, including in the locker room. He enjoys hip-hop the most, but he will dance to anything. Former teammate Royal Ivey told Basketball Insiders, "When the music comes on he'll bust a move. He's a pretty good dancer at seven foot."
