[shan-TIHL-lee; shahn-tee-YEE] A French term referring to sweet or savory dishes that are prepared or served with whipped cream. Crème chantilly is lightly sweetened whipped cream-sometimes flavored with vanilla or liqueur-used as a dessert topping.
