[KLA-sih-koh; KLAH-see-koh] Italian for "classic," used in the wine world to describe the wines from a wine-growing territory (usually the oldest in terms of grape cultivation and wine production) within a larger geographic region defined by the Italian classification system (see appellation) known as DOC. One of the better known examples is Chianti Classico.
