History: Authorized as a national recreation area on December 27, 1974; established on June 26, 1975; redesignated as a national park on October 11, 2000.
Location: 22 miles along the Cuyahoga River between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio.

The 20-mile Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail follows the historic route of the canal. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad offers various excursions through the park on a year-round basis.
