In marketing, sales promotion that enables a customer to save money on the purchase of a product or service. Consumer deals offer discounts or special purchases to the consumer for various products, usually within a time period. Trade deals offer special discounts to retailers for buying in large quantities, or special displays at reduced costs, or some other dollar incentive to purchase a manufacturer's goods or services. By law, trade deals must be offered on an equal basis to all retailers or dealers doing business with a manufacturer.
