A wall fountain can add beauty to any outdoor garden, table top or office. Although many people may think that these fountains are expensive and difficult to make, this is simply not true. Wall fountains are quite affordable and easy to make. A wall fountain consists of a water basin that people can fill with decorative rocks, and a frame that holds a sheet of glass that allows the water to dribble down into the basin. Following are some easy directions to make a small wall fountain to decorate a tabletop in a home or office.

What People Will Need To Build A Wall Fountain

People will need a few inexpensive materials to build their wall fountain. The following is the required materials: plastic tubing, caulking, a fountain pump, hot glue, a drill, indoor/outdoor clear gloss screws and nuts, a metal box, copper shield and a metal picture frame with enclosed glass.

People can find any of these materials in their local craft shops or the craft departments of their local department stores.

Building A Basic Wall Fountain

The first thing that people will need to do is to screw the metal picture frame onto the front of the metal box. They will need to caulk around the screws to make sure they will be waterproof, and apply the copper shield to all of the metal to prevent oxidation from occurring.

Next, they need to place the water pump into the metal box, and glue the tubing along one side or the picture frame and just across the top, as well. They will need to seal the end of the tubing at the top of the frame with the caulk. Now, they should carefully poke several small holes in the tubing that is covering the top of the frame. This will permit the water to drip down the glass of the frame.

Finishing The Wall Fountain

The wall fountain is now almost finished. People may choose to scatter some small, decorative stones on the bottom of the metal box. They may also wish to decorate the box to make it more appealing and to hide the screws. Finally, they need to plug the water pump into an outlet and fill the box with water. The water will flow through the plastic tubing and drip over the glass of the frame creating a beautiful wall fountain for anyone's home or office.
