Ideation may mean:

• Ideation (idea generation), the process of creating new ideas, normally for new products.
• Suicidal ideation, a common medical term for thoughts about suicide, which may be as detailed as a formulated plan, without the suicidal act itself.
• Meditation, the process by which human consciousness reaches deeper states of awareness.
• A psychological state in which an individual generates alternate scenarios, creates fantasy worlds, or otherwise imagines things in a way that may contradict external reality.
• Shared or "intersubjective" beliefs used to explain the interests and identities of actors in constructivist approaches to international relations.
