Familiar scenario: Friday is quickly becoming Friday night. You've spent the last hour reading Moby Dick for American Literature class; you still have no clue why someone would want to be called Ishmael and where this whale of a book is actually going.

Identify with this: Everyone is at the bar, discussing childhood sitcom theme songs. All of a sudden, you have all blanked out on how "Saved by the Bell" started.

There are answers for both scenarios, and both can be found in the same place: www.answers.com. Answers.com gives clear results in an instant answer on one page. Answers.com's collection of over 4 million answers is drawn from over 60 titles from brand-name publishers, as well as original content created by Answers.com's own editorial team.

"It has suddenly become so much easier to search for things without using a third party. [All the information you need] is on one page filled with relevant material," said Joshua Sun, a student at Florida State University.

"We don't believe in chasing down page after page," said Jay Bailey, Director of Marketing for Answers.com. "Answers.com wants to help you get smarter - we make it easy, quick and fun for students and net surfers."

Answers.com also offers free, unique, downloadable search tools. With 1-Click Answers, Bailey explains, students need only to Alt-Click on any word in any program on the screen for instant, accurate definitions, explanations and facts. The program is a quick simple download for Windows or Mac OS X. The site also offers the more traditional toolbar and search add-ons for Firefox and Internet Explorer.

"Answers.com is the new place for college students on the web," Sun added. The site offers a special benefit for students: instant bibliography citations. At the bottom of each Answer page you'll find a list of sources for the answer as well as the option to format the citation in MLA, APA and Chicago citation styles.

To give you answers at the gym, in the library or in town, Answers.com introduced Mobile Answers, available at http://mobile.answers.com, giving searchers free access to a mobile version of the site for Treo, BlackBerry, and WinCE-based handhelds. It's the same complete collection of information streamlined and formatted for the smaller screen.

The main attraction of Answers.com is in the clear display of content as opposed to solely links. Want to research studying abroad in Melbourne versus Madrid? On Answers.com, the results for Melbourne or Madrid read as clear pages of relevant information, including related topics and links. Enjoy the opportunity to learn about the culture, people and weather on one clean page, without having to leave your PC.

Every day, the site's Today's Highlights page is updated. Visitors can learn about that date in history as well as the day's word, quote, birthdays and more.

Consider getting the answers directly the next time you need to look up existentialism in a hurry to impress your professor or your girlfriend. Whether on your cell phone or dorm computer, the answer is just a click away.
