Michael Lemoyne Kennedy was the son of the late Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy, and nephew of President John F. Kennedy. He was married to Victoria Gifford, the daughter of football star Frank Gifford. Despite a career in politics and public service, Michael Kennedy is most notorious for two incidents: an affair with his children's babysitter, which became a public scandal in 1996; and his death after colliding with a tree on the ski slopes of Aspen, Colorado in 1997.

(b Manchester, 19 Feb 1926). English writer on music. He joined the Daily Telegraph in Manchester in 1941 and became its northern music critic (1950) and editor (1960). A prolific and sensitive writer, he has written valuable studies of several English composers (Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Britten), books on Mahler and Strauss and music dictionaries.
