Natch is one of those snarky little words that come in so handy when you want to be, well — snarky (as New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd so often does when writing about the Bush crowd). Even if you don't, it's useful to know that it's short for "naturally":
"The move against Iran allows the president and Dick Cheney — who was, natch, militating for the Surge..."
