Aduma is a name in Idoma. We came from Esau. We are called Edom. Edom in Idoma means "my kind of person." Edom was also referred to as Dumah by Isaiah in the bible when he wrote about the vision of Dumah. Some bible scholars interpreted this to be Dome or Rome. Isaiah was refering to Edom or Idumea (Idoma). We are also called Dumah or Doma. The Doma people who are in the neighboring state of Nasarawa state in Nigeria are also Idumea (Idoma). Dumah is another name for Idumea or Edom. We are called Idumea or Dumah. We are not Romans but Africans from Nigeria. In the bible, Ada and Oholibama were Canaanite women from the tribes of Hittites and Hivites. Archeological evidence traced these tribes to mount Ida in Turkey. The name Ida come from the Greek goddess Idaa. These two names are also names in our tribe in Idumea in Nigeria. Biblical evidence showed that Idumeas became annexed to Israel. We intermarried and became one with Isreal. Evidence in our town of Otukpo confirmed this. My grand mother's village is Asa. Asa was a king in Judah. His father was called Abijah. Abijah is also a name in our tribe. Abijah's brother was Atai, Atai is also a name in my tribe. These were the grand children of King Solomon. In Our town of Otukpo, there is a road called Jericho road. This is to remind us about the area some of us came from in Isreal. There is another area called Italy. This is to remind us about the treaty of Italy or Rome which made the Herods who were Idumeas rulers over Israel. Idumea is the only Jewish tribe in Nigeria. We are Idumea, the children of Esau. Interracial marriage was not always legal. In fact, it was illegal for a Caucasian and an African-American to get married in the United States during the 1950s. However, due t…o a number of political movements and the pivotal court-case ruling in 1967, marriage between couples of different races has been allowed and become acceptable in the decades following the Jim Crow laws. Here is a list of articles, in chronological order, of the history of interracial marriage.In a 1951 Harper's Magazine article, the father of a Caucasian family expressed his concern for his daughter's marriage to an African-American man. This was one of the earliest articles in American history that addressed mixed marriages in society. The father chose to remain anonymous, which demonstrated his shame for his daughter's decision. His anonymity also reflected the public's opinion about interracial marriages in America during the 1950s: as undesirable, problematic, and unacceptable.Shortly after the Supreme Court upheld interracial couples' rights to marry, the Journal of Negro Education published an article detailing the aftermath of the Loving versus Virginia decision, as well as the history of anti-miscegenation laws. This 1967 article describes the arrest of Richard Loving and Mildred Jeter five weeks after their marriage in 1958, on the premise that they were a biracial couple. Over the decades, states repealed their anti-miscegenation laws, which consequently led to the rise of family households of multi-ethnic backgrounds. Because of the 1967 Supreme Court decision and the changing opinions of the America public, interracial couples and their children are able to enjoy the rights and freedoms as that of their non-interracial counterparts.Many people who pride themselves as having pure European ancestry may in fact be wrong. Due to the American slave trade of the 18th and 19th centuries, which brought in a large number of African slaves, biracial children were conceived, many illegitimately. In the 1950s, about 20 percent of Americans who identified themselves as 100 percent Caucasian actually were of African descent. Therefore, having "racially uniformed" races is an American myth.
