Norway was neutral an…d was supplying Germany with canned fish. The British were fed up with this, and presented Norway with an ultimatum; Stop feeding Germany, or we stop supplying you with coal. Norway now had to choose sides, and this sparked a collaboration where a large portion of the Norwegian commercial fleet was put at Britain's disposal. However, Norway still claimed to be neutral.
