Apr 5. National holiday since 1972. According to Chinese custom, the tombs of ancestors are swept “clear and bright” and rites honoring ancestors are held. Tomb-Sweeping Day is observed Apr 5, which is also the anniversary of the death of Chiang Kai-Shek.
