1 Night in China is a pornographic movie featuring wrestling personalities Sean Waltman and Joanie Laurer,[1] which was released by Red Light District Video in 2004. The title of the movie is a play on words, as Laurer wrestled in the World Wrestling Federation under the ring name Chyna (pronounced China). (A similar sex tape featuring Paris Hilton, also distributed by Red Light District, was entitled 1 Night in Paris). While Waltman and Laurer were engaged at the time they filmed the movie, they broke up before it was released.

Plot

The movie features scenes of Laurer and Waltman taking a guided tour of China, intercut with footage of the pair participating in anal, vaginal, and oral sex acts, with special emphasis on an anal sex scene, which serves as the climax of the film. Waltman appears to be high on marijuana during most of the film, something which he himself alludes to at one point.

Distribution

Laurer and Waltman approached Red Light District Video in late 2004 to distribute the tape.[2] The film sold over 100,000 copies.[2] According to the company, both Laurer and Waltman shared in the profits.[2] Because of the film, Laurer received a career boost, even appearing as a cast member on The Surreal Life on VH1.[2] - Red Light District has set a March 3 of 2009 as the release date for Another Night in Chyna, a new celebrity-sex video starring former WWF star Joanie "Chyna Doll" Laurer.

"Joanie is a huge celebrity that crosses many markets," said David Joseph, president of Red Light District. "The first movie continues to sell extremely well and the prospect of selling another one was a no-brainer."

Reception

In January 2006, the film won an Adult Video News Award for the Top Selling Release of the Year.[3][4]
