Review

Arguably the most consistent volume in the 100% Motown series, 100% Motown '70s features several of the label's flat-out classics from that decade, including the Jackson 5's "I'll Be There," Gladys Knight & the Pips' "If I Were Your Woman," Smokey Robinson & the Miracles' "Tears of a Clown," the Temptations' "Papa Was a Rolling Stone," and Marvin Gaye's "Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)." The tracks by the Commodores, Eddie Kendricks, and Billy Preston & Syreeta are also solid, making this a short but sweet collection that may not be comprehensive, but most certainly is enjoyable. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
