101.1 is often FM's home for "the new rock alternative," or "the best new rock." Sometimes, it's even a place where "it doesn't have to be old to be a classic." In the case of Dallas-Fort Worth's 101.1, WRR, it has to be classical to be a classic. From the cover art of the 101.1 FM WRR: Road Rage Remedy compilation, you might think it's a set of "classic rock that really rocks," or chock full of "the rock you need to get there fast." In actuality, the set's 13 soothing classical pieces are remedy for the abject rage displayed by on the cover. No wave after you let someone pull in front of you? No problem -- listen to Brahms' Adagio. But damn it if that guy with the tinted windows didn't cut you off again! That's the third time this week! Hey, relax. Let Tchaikovsky's Andante Cantabile ferry you home on gossamer wings. Dwell on the mysteries of Bach's Air on the G String, or revel in the Pastoral Symphony from Handel, the theme from WRR's own Pastoral Reflections show. Road Rage Remedy won't prevent the nun in the Reliant from passing on the shoulder, or waiting until her last inch of lane to merge left. But it will soften the damage to your fragile wits, and help drive you home instead of up a wall. ~ Johnny Loftus, Rovi
