The 11th Chess Olympiad, organized by the FIDE and comprising an open[1] and women's tournament, as well as several events designed to promote the game of chess, took place between September 4 and September 25, 1954, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Soviet Union team won the event, followed by Argentina and Yugoslavia.
