Review

As on her similar Skinny Kat from 1998, producer, husband G.E. Smith provides loving, sympathetic accompaniment for her beguiling songs. Renowned for his electric guitar playing, he frames her winsome voice with mandolins, acoustic guitars, accordions, and even sitars. Smith has discovered his wife's voice sounds great with violins. Between the opening title track and album-closing bonus song "The Drooler (Le Baveur)," the release suffers from a sameness in mood and tempo. ~ Mark Allan, Rovi
