Start/End points of 137 Avenue
137 Avenue is a major arterial road in north Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This road travels through residential, industrial and commercial areas, including shopping and entertainment centres and districts.
The road starts at 199 Street, on the west end of Edmonton, Big Lake being west of there. It currently links Ray Gibbon Drive (St. Albert's West Bypass Road) with 184 Street/Sir Winston Churchill Avenue, when Anthony Henday Drive and the 137 Avenue realignment, called LeClair Way, opens in 2011 this 0.8 km section will be closed.[1] Two pieces of the realignment have been opened so far, from Ray Gibbon Drive to Riel Drive, and from Sir Winston Churchill Avenue east past Anthony Henday Drive. The boundary between the Cities of St. Albert and Edmonton runs on the north side of the right of way from 199 Street to Sir Winston Churchill Avenue.
Further east, the road passes Golden West Golf Course and St. Albert Trail Golf Course between 170 Street, and St. Albert Trail (Mark Messier Trail). Past there is the St. Albert Trail and Pembina commercial areas, and Castle Downs neighbourhood. The avenue between Castle Downs Road and 97 Street forms the southern boundary of the old CFB Griesbach. At 97 Street (Highway 28) the road passes through the northgate commercial area with Northgate Centre and North Town Centre, and at 66 Street it passes Londonderry Mall. 137 Avenue again passes through commercial districts at Manning Drive and 50 Street, the latter being called Clareview Town Centre, and between which the LRT passes over. One final commercial area is located by Victoria Trail before 137 Avenue turns into 20 Street NW at Hermitage Park.
