January 29 - Tony Suck, 36, catcher for two seasons, in both the National League and the Union Association, 1883-1884.
April 18 - Henry Myers, 36, shortstop/manager for the 1882 Baltimore Orioles. Also played parts of two others seasons in the Majors.
September 29 - George Tebeau, 33, an outfielder with the Cincinnati Red Stockings and Toledo Maumees in the American Association and for the Washington Senators and Cleveland Spiders of the National League, who later became the owner of the Kansas City Blues American Association franchise.
October 3 - Harry Wright, 60, organizer of baseball's first professional team, the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings, and the first major league manager to record 1000 victories
