The second (and overall better) of two Casa Loma LPs put out by the Harrison label in the 1970s starts off with the best-known version of their theme song "Smoke Rings" (the 1937 rendition) and has a couple of vocal numbers from 1930 but otherwise dates from 1933-35. Other than three Pee Wee Hunt vocals, the emphasis is on instrumentals as the Casa Loma Orchestra shows what swing was like before the rise of Benny Goodman. Highlights include a three-song medley, "Old Man River," "Panama," "Avalon" and "Who's Sorry Now." ~ Scott Yanow, Rovi
