The 1957–58 Detroit Pistons season was the 17th for the pro basketball franchise, 10th season in the NBA, and the first for the franchise in the Motor City. The Pistons went 33-39 during the season, tied for second with the Cincinnati Royals, eight games behind the NBA World Champion St. Louis Hawks, but were awarded the second seed on tie-breakers. They defeated the Royals in two straight games in the West Semifinal series, but the West Finals to the Hawks in five games.
