Ever wondered how Disneyland and nuclear testing fit together? Well, take a listen to Mort Sahl's 1960, which not only takes on those two subjects, but also analysts, Hollywood movies, the AMA, smog, traffic tickets, communists, the police, and the airlines, to name just a few things. This one isn't quite as politically specific as his famous At the Hungry I album, so political neophytes won't find themselves quite so lost by the subject material. What might lose you, however, is Sahl's trademark rapid-fire delivery, which veers from topic to topic and then back again with the speed of a machine gun. As usual, this album has more in common with a lecture than a standup comedy bit, so those looking for easy laughs, beware. ~ Sean Carruthers, Rovi
