The 1968 East-West Pro Bowl was played on January 21, 1968 at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California before a before 53,289 fans. The game had contreversy because Eastern coach Otto Graham of the Redskins benched Fran Tarkenton in the fourth quarter. The coach of the West was Don Shula of the Colts. The final Score was West 38, East 20. Shula got his second win in the last four years as coach. Gale Sayers of the Chicago Bears was named the back of the game for the second year in a row and Dave Robinson of the Green Bay Packers received the lineman of the game honors. Following the game, players questioned the benching of a player of Tarkenton’s stature in a charity game.[1]
