On 8 September, Israeli planes bombed ten PLO bases in Syria and Lebanon as a response to the Munich massacre. Estimates of the number of casualties vary widely. According to Simon Reeve, 200 people with no relation to the massacre were killed, including women and children.[1][2][3]
