The 1980 UEFA Super Cup was played between Valencia CF and Nottingham Forest, with Valencia winning on the away goals rule.[1] Forest won the home leg 2-1, with both goals coming from Ian Bowyer. They however lost the second leg 1-0. This was the only occasion that the Super Cup was won using the away goals rule.
