  • March 17: Import Richard Hollis converted on a follow-up shot at the buzzer as Purefoods nip Shell, 124-123, Game was put under protest by Shell and a replay, scheduled on April 9th was ordered.
  • March 23: Purefoods defeated Pepsi Hotshots, 105-95 in Cabanatuan City, with only 1:30 left remaining in the ballgame, a fistfight occurred between Hotdog' Dindo Pumaren and Pepsi's Jun Reyes. it was further aggrevivated when Purefoods rookie Joey Santamaria enter the fray.
  • June 27: Alvin Patrimonio scored a personal high 47 points in leading Purefoods to a 128-125 overtime victory over Pepsi.

Notable occurrences

  • Following a 124-107 loss to Shell at the close of the first round of the semifinals on April 18, Coach Baby Dalupan resigns, citing indifferences with the Purefoods management as his reason for quitting the team, assistant coach Ely Capacio took over the vacant spot left by the PBA's winningest coach.
  • Purefoods import Richard Hollis left the team unnoticed prior to their must win situation against Ginebra San Miguel on the last playing date of the semifinals on May 2nd. It was the second time in Purefoods history an import deserted them in an all-important game.
