• Two high density optical storage formats have been developed, the MultiMedia Compact Disc (MMCD) from by Philips and Sony, and the Super Density (SD) disc from Toshiba, Time Warner, Matsushita Electric, Hitachi, Mitsubishi Electric, Pioneer, Thomson, and JVC.^[1]
