The video chronicles the dramatic victory of Texan cyclist Lance Armstrong in the 1999 Tour de France. An accomplished cyclist, Armstrong's career was almost cut tragically short by a devastating bout of cancer that spread to his lungs and brain. His chances of survival were given as 50/50, but he returned to cycling to dominate the 1999 Tour de France, and this video includes footage from his time-trials, his Alpine stage victory, and his undisputed lead through the Pyrenees. It also includes his victory lap on the Champs Élysées, Paul Sherwen's interviews with Armstrong, and reports on the race by Gary Imlach. ~ Michael McGrath, Rovi
