Review

It makes no sense to discuss 200 KM/H in the Wrong Lane, the first album by Russian dance-pop duo Tatu, without focusing on the gimmick, since that gimmick is the band. And the gimmick, of course, is that the girls are teenage lesbians who sing songs with suggestive titles like "Not Gonna Get Us," "Show Me Love," and "All the Things She Said," while covering that perennial anthem of tortured unrequited love and lust, the Smiths' "How Soon Is Now?". It's heavy Europop, often helmed by Trevor Horn, and sung by two cute girls. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

CD Information & Facts

  • Two different version were released in Japan. The second edition contained two discs. The first one being the album, with a new bonus track ("Ne Ver, Ne Boisia"), and the second one being a DVD with the "All The Things She Said", "Not Gonna Get Us", and "How Soon Is Now?" videos. This version was released with a sleeve featuring all-new artwork and it included a bonus sticker-sheet.
  • The song "Show Me Love" was intended as a single, but was replaced with "How Soon Is Now?", a limited release that didn't top any important charts; despite this, "Show Me Love" was still featured on the greatest hits album, The Best.
  • On The Best CD, only the Japan cover is shown on the back part of the booklet (where all single CDs and studio album covers are shown). The Russian cover of the CD doesn't appear, though the original and Japanese Obi cover do appear.
