The 2001 Tennis Masters Cup and the ATP World Doubles Challenge Cup (also known as the Touchtel ATP World Doubles Challenge Cup for sponsorship reasons) were tennis tournaments played on indoor hard courts. It was the 31st edition of the year-end singles championships, the 27th edition of the year-end doubles championships, and both were part of the 2001 ATP Tour. The singles event took place at the Sydney Superdome in Sydney, Australia, from November 12 through November 18, 2001, and the doubles event at the KSLTA Tennis Center in Bangalore, India, from January 28 through February 3, 2002. The doubles event, scheduled to be played between November 7 and November 11, 2001, in Bangalore, was cancelled for security reasons.[1] The ATP, to make up for the lack of circuit doubles finale in 2001, rescheduled an event in Bangalore, named ATP World Doubles Challenge Cup, and held it early in the 2002 season.[2]
