2002 WTA Tour

The 2002 Sanex WTA Tour is the thirty-second full season since the WTA began. It commenced on December 31, 2001 and ended on November 4 after sixty-five events. Serena Williams dominated the Grand Slam tournaments, winning the French Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open to end the season as the number one player in the world. Sister Venus Williams, who finished runner-up at all three, was number two. Australian Open champion Jennifer Capriati was number three, with Belgians Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin finishing fourth and fifth.
