Spotlight: On this date in 1968, Robert F. Kennedy died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, a day after he was shot by Sirhan Bishara Sirhan. Kennedy had just delivered a speech upon winning the California Democratic presidential primary and was making his way through the Ambassador Hotel, when he was shot at close range. Kennedy had served as Attorney General under his brother, President John F. Kennedy, and was a senator from New York at the time of his assassination.
