2008 Fed Cup

The 2008 Fed Cup (also known as the 2008 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas for sponsorship purposes) was the 46th edition of the most important tournament between national teams in women's tennis. 8 teams contested the World Group, and 85 teams competed in total. The final took place in Madrid, Spain, on 13-14 September, with Russia defeating Spain, 4-0, to retain the title.

World Group Play-offs

The 4 losing teams in the World Group first round ties (Israel, France, Italy, and Germany), and 4 winners of the World Group II ties (Ukraine, Japan, Czech Republic, and Argentina) enter the draw for the World Group Play-offs. 4 seeded teams, based on the latest Fed Cup ranking, are drawn against 4 unseeded teams.
