- February-March - The second annual Soundwave Festival will be held in Australia. It will be headlined by Incubus, The Offspring and Social Distortion.[1]
- May - The 53rd Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Belgrade. See Eurovision Song Contest 2008.
- July 31 to August 2 - The reunited Carcass will play at the German heavy metal festival Wacken Open Air.[2] This will be their first live performance since their original break up in 1995.
