Multipliers

European Sports Magazines have awarded the Golden Shoe based on a points system that allows players in tougher leagues to win even if they score fewer goals than a player in a weaker league. With this modification goals are ranked differently between the leagues.[1]

Leagues in which each goal receives 2 points:

Leagues in which each goal receives 1.5 points:

In all other top leagues, each goal receives 1 point, including:

Certain European leagues, such as the Russian Premier League and Tippeligaen, problematically follow calendar years rather than the usual August-May model. As a result, their 2009 calendar season is taken to be compared with the 2009–10 seasons in all other European leagues.
