2009 Superbike World Championship season

Wikipedia: 2009 Superbike World Championship season
Series rookie Ben Spies held off veteran Noriyuki Haga to win the title by six points. Spies will not defend his title in 2010, as he will replace James Toseland at Tech 3 in MotoGP.

The 2009 Superbike World Championship season (officially known as the HANNspree SBK Superbike World Championship for sponsorship reasons) is the 22nd season of the Superbike World Championship. It is the second season in which HANNspree has been the title sponsor of the championship.[1] The South African round will return on May 15-17 at Kyalami and will be the first time since the 2002 season that the Superbike World Championship has raced there.
