The 2011–12 season Borussia Dortmund began on 23 July 2011 with a Revierderby loss against FC Schalke 04 in the DFL-Supercup. It ended with Borussia completing the league and cup double with Bayern Munich as runners-up. In the home game which ended in a 1-0 win to secure the league title, fans threw bananas at Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and Emma the bumblebee mascot pretend to urinate on Bayern's bus.[1]
