The 2015 World Aquatics Championships — 16th FINA World Aquatics Championships will be held in Kazan, Russia in summer 2015.[1] It was announced on July 15, 2011 on the biennial General Congress of FINA, scheduled in Shanghai — host-city of the 2011 World Aquatics Championships. Kazan defeated rival bids from Guadalajara (Mexico), Hong Kong, China . Guangzhou (China), and Montreal (Canada). The last two cities withdrew their bids shortly before the vote.

Venues

Most of the competitions will be held in facilities built for the 2013 Summer Universiade, also hosted in Kazan.

  • Rowing Center on the Middle Kaban lake (open water swimming)
  • Burevestnik indoor swimming pool (swimming, water polo)
  • Akcharlak indoor swimming pool (swimming, water polo)
  • Ak Bure Sports Complex (swimming)
  • KAI-Olymp Sports Complex (swimming)
  • Triumph Sports Complex (swimming)
  • Bustan Sports Complex (swimming)
