Los Angeles cousins Tha D and KK attended high school in Compton with DJ Quik before landing a record deal with Profile. Their debut 2nd II None had two strong compositions: "Be True to Yourself" and "If You Want It," both of which did respectably. The album was re-released in 1999 as a precursor to a brand-new full-length, Classic 220. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide

2nd II None is a rap group from Compton, California. It consists of cousins KK (born K. McDonald) and Gangsta D (born D. Barnett)

They released their first album in 1991, the self-titled 2nd II None (from Profile Records). Their second album, Classic 220 (from Arista Records), came eight full years after their debut. Their albums were mainly produced by childhood friend and rapper/producer DJ Quik. They are most known for working with fellow Compton friends DJ Quik, Hi-C, AMG, Mausberg, and Playa Hamm.

Both of the group's albums reached the Billboard 200 album chart and entered the top 40 on Billboard's R&B/hip-hop album chart.
