Biography

Blending the optimistic alt-CCM sound of bands like Switchfoot and Myriad with a hint of contemporary country twang, 33Miles set out in the early 2000s, in the words of lead singer Jason Barton, to "love on God's people." Barton, guitarist Chris Lockwood, and pianist Collin Stoddard started the band in Nashville, TN, and were quickly snapped up by INO Records, which released the band's self-titled debut in 2007. ~ Margaret Reges, All Music Guide

33Miles is a contemporary Christian band with country music influences from Franklin, Tennessee. They began playing in Nashville and signed to INO Records, who released the band's debut album, 33Miles, in 2007. The album peaked at #8 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers albums chart and #16 on its Top Christian Albums chart.[1] Their 2007 song "There is a God" was played as the wake-up call music for the Space Shuttle astronauts on their STS-128 mission on September 3, 2009.
